As we move towards our historic inauguration tomorrow, I began to think of all the people who have sacrificed themselves for the progress of the rest of us. The "Bridge People".
These people have believed in something so strongly that, at times, they have given their life to their cause. They may not have seen the end result of their work but they have bridged the gap in our thinking.
Because of them we have grown. We have moved towards a different belief system and hopefully become more loving and accepting of others.
Whether you agree or disagree with these people and their movement, they have made an impact on history.

The Dalai Lama

MLK

Jesus

Gandhi

Gloria Steinem

Abraham Lincoln

Susan B. Anthony
Although this is not an exhaustive list, tomorrow's inauguration is a nod to all those who have sacrificed themselves.
Thanks to all our "Bridge People". Thanks for bridging the gap in our thinking. Thanks for helping us think outside the box, keeping us from becoming stale in our views, and forcing us to walk in another person's shoes.
